Celebrating the Amazing Quadcopter Girls!

Before the Christmas break, UTC Plymouth's talented team of girls achieved an incredible milestone by making it to the finals of the RTX 2023 Quadcopter Challenge! Although they didn’t bring home the trophy, their journey was nothing short of inspiring. Competing against 180 teams, they secured an impressive 9th-place finish, standing proudly as one of the 15 finalists in their very first year of participating.

The RTX Quadcopter Challenge focused on the transformative role modern drones play in emergency services, from aiding firefighters to supporting police and rapid responders. This wasn’t just a competition; it was a platform to apply innovative STEAM skills to solve real-world challenges. The UTC team worked tirelessly, displaying creativity, resilience, and collaboration throughout the event, and they absolutely shone!

More than just a showcase of technical skills, this experience was about inspiring the next generation of STEAM leaders and innovators. By pushing boundaries and taking on this challenge, the girls have proven that, with dedication and teamwork, extraordinary things are possible.
